Your First Visit and Beyond

Initial Complimentary Consultation  (First visit)

We strive to make our office a warm and inviting place for patients of all ages.  During your first visit, Dr. Berco and Dr. DeLuca will review your complete medical and dental history and perform a comprehensive orthodontic examination to determine if you may benefit from orthodontic treatment.  If treatment is required, we will explain to you: 

1. •The nature of your orthodontic problem

2. •Your treatment options

3. •The length of treatment

4. •Treatment fee and payment options

This appointment is a great opportunity to learn about your orthodontic treatment needs and ask questions.

Diagnostic Records

If orthodontic treatment is indicated, the necessary dental radiographs (x-rays), impressions (moulds of your teeth), and photographs will be required so that Dr. Berco and Dr. DeLuca can perform a comprehensive diagnostic analysis to customize the details of your treatment plan.  These records will also be used to track the progress of your treatment as we work toward a healthy, beautiful smile.  

Treatment Consultation 

Dr. Berco and Dr. DeLuca will review the details of your customized treatment plan before appliances are placed, including specific appliances to be used and length of various treatment phases.  It is important to us that you fully understand all aspects of your or your child’s orthodontic treatment, including all benefits, limitations, and potential risks.  If at any time you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call the office or ask your questions at your next appointment.

Active Treatment

Following the placement of your orthodontic appliances, adjustment appointments will be necessary, 

typically every 4-8 weeks depending on your particular treatment needs.  

Retention

Retainers are used to preserve the results obtained during active orthodontic treatment as your 

teeth settle into their new position.  Retainers vary in design and my be fixed or removable.  

The type of retainer selected will be based on your pre-treatment dental condition 

and personal preference.
