How Shakey's came to be...

Shakey's was originally owned by Mike Walton who was known in the hockey world as Mike "Shakey" Walton Number 16. He played for the Toronto Maple leafs and won a Stanley Cup with them in 1967. As a second career he chose to open a bar in Bloor West Village Called Shakey's Original Bar and Grill. Over the years it has passed through several different ownerships but has always kept the famous name Shakey's.

Rob and Chris Lundy...

Three generations ago Michael Lundy the grandfather of Rob and Chris bought the Stardust Hotel and lounge in 1949, and converted it into the famous Drake Hotel. He later bought the Silver Dollar and ran both successfully for many years. Rob bought Shakey's approximately 10 years ago and now Chris has joined his brother to continue a family tradition.

Rob has put a brand new face on the legendary bar and Restaurant "Shakey's". He finished Renovating in the fall of 2010. His brother Chris, who has a culinary education heads up the kitchen and brings some new and fresh ideas to the menu. Chris went to culinary school in B.C. and has worked in three different provinces. He started early in his career as a line cook at Crush Wine bar, rouge restaurant and finally working/cheffing in our own bloor west village at Lemon Meringue and Merlot. He left in late 2006 for Montreal and worked at a private club for Politicians and lawyers named club 357C.

It has always been a life time goal for both brothers to work together and own their own bar/restaurant.
