Which is your favourite Niki Kavakonis Designs Power Jewel?
This is a model wearing The Black Widow Spider pendant necklace and the Web of Deceit cuff bracelet, at the Vancouver Fashion Show a few years ago. She’s also wearing the Web of Deceit finger ring, but you can’t see it in this picture.
Incidentally, did you know tthat black widow spiders consume their mate after mating? Talk about power jewels.

Speaking of Power Jewels…
I have been watching the interplanetary war, futuristic science fiction show The Expanse.
Persian actress Shohreh Aghdashloo plays Her Excellency Chrisjen Avasarala, the current Secretary-General of the United Nations, who serves as both head of State and government of Earth.
While the wars and treasons between Earth, Mars, and the Belt are gripping, it is Avasarala’s outfits and jewellery that leave me asking every episode “what is she wearing now?”

Catherine the Great
I read an article about Catherine the Great in which the author stated that she loved emeralds so much that, when she had a particularly challenging meeting with her generals, she would drape them on, so that her generals would be staring at hundreds of carats of emeralds, as a form of intimidation.

Life Line wrist bracelet.
One of my clients was given this vintage gold and platinum ring, featuring a mixed cut oval sapphire and two round European cut diamonds, and set in bezels of 18K yellow gold and platinum.
Previously in the possession of another family member, her parents gifted it to her on her 21st birthday, just as she was concluding her undergraduate studies, and embarking on a prestigious career. Though she wore the ring in her 20s and early 30s, she put it aside, for various reasons, as she grew older.
